09.12.1974 LONDON (Royal Albert Hall) - 40/9 : Tracks: Orchestral Hergest Ridge pts 1 & 2. Featured David Bedford as conductor. Steve Hillage had to replace Mike on electric guitar because of a panic attack.

01.1979 FRANKFURT (Rehearsal - Live demo) - 40/8 : Guilty, Tubular Bells pt. 1, Sailor's Hornpipe, Untitled Adlib Track (unreleased). Rare!!

04.04.1972 OLD GREY WHISTLE TEST - 6/1- : Kevin Ayers & The Whole World (with Mike on bass guitar, his eyes always shut) performing May I and Oh My in TV studio. Rare!

1973 BBC SECONDHOUSE - 26/1 : Tubular Bells (pt.1) performed live in BBC TV studio. With Mike, his brother Terry, Steve Hillage, Fred Frith, Pierre Moerlen and other musicians who had already helped him at the T.B. live premiere in London (Queen Elizabeth Hall) some months earlier, the same year.

1975-1976 ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE - 14/2 : Oldfield special at the time Mike was recording Ommadawn, featured during the Pop-Rock history series "All You Need Is Love". It shows a shy Mike Oldfield in and outside his studio at the Beacon, playing some fantastic unreleased bars on acoustic guitar (Ommadawn pts. 1 & 2) which were not used for the album, and showing how he can obtain certain particular sound effects with his Gibson electric guitar linked to the mixing desk; then interview with him and Richard Branson.

1976 REFLECTIONS - 49/2 : Unreleased soundtrack by the Arts Council UK, shows the relations between human beings, nature and science, typically English mystical vein. Oldfield's music fits perfectly. Tracks: The Path (remember that this song was first released on record in 1986), First Excursion, unreleased Ommadawn excerpt, unreleased piece, name?, Ommadawn unknown excerpt, Woodhenge (first released in 1979), Incantations excerpt, Portsmouth.

1979 THE SPACE MOVIE - 80/1 : Soundtrack by Mike, featured unreleased pieces, one in particular is fantastic, and it is a chant from Incantations pt.4. Never heard before. Produced by Richard Branson.

1979 The Making Of BLUE PETER - 10/2 : Mike in his home-studio showing how he records the song by overdubbing each single instrument. During the percussion section Mike is being helped by other people.

1979 TISWAS INTERVIEW - 13/2 : there are children holding the "Guilty" 45 in their hands. A guy springs out of a box and throws a cake on Mike's face!.

09.11.1979 MUSICBOX - 45/2 : Oldfield special. From the "Exposed Tour", Mike and the 52 piece band in Frankfurt during the rehearsal (january 1979) of "Tubular Bells", "Guilty" and "Sailor's Hornpipe". When they finish, Mike looks at his watch and plays a few Spanish chords on guitar. The whole performance is unfortunately often interrupted by images of people dancing and by other ridiculous stuff. Mike is also interviewed on how he mixes his music.

02.04.1979 EXPOSED TOUR (MADRID Palacio de los Sportos) - 30/2 : Tubular Bells pts.1 & 2, Sailor's Hornpipe. With landscape images during the live performance.

25.04.1979 EXPOSED TOUR (LONDON Wembley Conference Center) - 50/1 : Promo-video. Tracks: Tubular Bells pt.1, Guilty, Tubular Bells pt.2, Sailor's Hornpipe. Maddy Prior is dancing on the stage and Mike and other guitarists are wearing sunglasses for some minutes during the show. Mike changes his guitar and must tune it up as he plays it. Plus some interviews with the musicians. Rare!

03.05.1979 TOP OF THE POPS - 3/1- : performing "Guilty" in the TV studio. Different short version, with bit different guitar parts by Mike, not available on records.

1979 ROCKPOP - 12/2 : Mike and his band. Live appearence in TV studio playing "Guilty" and an excerpt from "Tubular Bells pt.1". Between these pieces, Sally Oldfield is on the other stage singing a song "The Sun In Your Eyes" with her own band. Rare!

1980 NATIONWIDE REPORT - 15/2 : Oldfield special. Mike is interviewed in his home. He shows how he pilots his helicopter and then fies over his property and country land. "Platinum" live excerpts from unknown concert, plus excerpt from "Tubular Bells pt.1" live (unknown concert).

1980 SCOTTISH TV - LIVE IN GATEWAY THEATRE (EDINBURGH) - 26/2 : Sheba, fantastic Ommadawn excerpt, Tubular Bells pt.2 excerpt, Sailor's Hornpipe.

1980 ON TOUR WITH FRIENDS - 23/2 : Live in Germany (unknown concert). It begins with Mike in the very middle of "Punkadiddle" guitar solo (the only one available on video!), interposed by interview subtitled in German and by scenes pre-concert (Maggie Reilly is knitting!). Then the band performs a fantastic complete version of "Platinum (1-4)", this too interrupted a couple of time by the interview, during which you can see Mike's wife with their newborn daughter Molly.

21.06.1980 THE ESSENTIAL MIKE OLDFIELD (Live at Knebworth Festival) - 70/1 : Guilty, Tubular Bells pts. 1 & 2, Ommadawn pt.1 (with long drum & percussion solo). Also some demonstrations on guitar in his studio at home and how his songs came into being, sources and guitar-technique to it.

20.12.1980 ROCKPOP IN CONCERT (DORTMUND Westfalenhalle) - 47/2- : Sheba, Platinum (1-4), Tubular Bells pt. 2, Sailor's Hornpipe, Tubular Bells pt.1. During "Charleston" a waiter comes on stage and gives each member of the band a glass of champagne-type wine.

  • Oldfield special. Interview with Mike in his studio and garden, shouting at his dog!

  • Barcelona TV studio, without audience, playing a 4 minute short version of Taurus I & II, medley of Sheba + Mirage + Platinum (1-4).

  • Unreleased flamenco-rock piece, titled "Pastosi", performed live by Mike & band and Spanish guitarist Diego Cortès in Barcelona TV studio. Great piece!

20.07.1981 AUSTRIAN TV SPECIAL - 21/2 : Review to his concert in Vienna (Stadthalle) with unreleased short live excerpts of "Donauwalzer" (Blue Danube) and other pieces. Also scenes behind stage with nude Mike (hot concert!), interview and singing an acapella version of traditional "Auld Lang Syne" sung by Mike, Rick Fenn and Tim Cross.

03.04.1982 LIGNE ROCK (Megamelomane Anglais) - 24/2 : documentation. Mike is interviewed. BBC Secondhouse outtakes, "William Tell Ouverture" and "Portsmouth" video clip excerpt from "Exposed Tour" 1979. Then "Blue Peter", "Guilty"," Wonderful Land" and "Five Miles Out" videoclips (English subtitled in French).

03.07.1982 ROSKILDE (Festival - Open Air) - 55/2 : Taurus II (beginning at ca. 16' - great version - first time Taurus II is seen live on video!!), Ommadawn pt.1 (with nice guitar intro), Tubular Bells pt.1. This is a fantastic concert, Mike really at his best. You can also see another female musician, Juditte Clee, playing guitar, doing vocals with Maggie Reilly, playing some percussion and introducing the instruments during Tubular Bells. She was only seen on the 1982 World Tour. Copy very near to the original from Danish TV.

08.1982 6.55 SPECIAL - 13/2 : The Mike Oldfield Group performes "Five Miles Out" and the just recorded "Mistake" live (Mike on bass) in TV studio in this show. Between "F.M.O." and "Mistake", Mike talks about "F.M.O.", The Exorcist and about the City of Freedom award he got. This is the only time "Mistake" was to be seen on TV or heard live!!

09.12.1982 3rd ROCK & CLASSIC NIGHT: MUNICH (Rudi Sedimayr-Halle) - 17/3 : Featured the "Orchestral Tubular Bells", conducted by Eberhard Schoner, with Mike appearing in simple T-shirt. Great version, especially the acoustic guitar intermezzo during pt.2, much better than the LP's. Then Paddy Maloney, teaming up with Mike and Morris Pert, performs a live version (not complete) of Irish traditional "Fanny Planxty Power".

1983 TOP OF THE POPS - 3/2 : "Moonlight Shadow" performed during this show.

1983 PREMIATISSIMA - 8/2 : "Moonlight Shadow" and "Shadow On The Wall" are performed in this Italian show.

1983 BREAKFAST TV - 8/2 : "Moonlight Shadow" clip and interview. Then Mike is showing his guitars (Ovation acoustic, Fender Stratocaster 1961, Ramirez, etc.) and plays with each one some unplugged bars. Rare!!

09.1983 SUPERFLASH - 10/1 : The presenter of this Italian quiz-show talks about Mike and makes a couple of question to him, then Mike receives two Golden Discs, both for "Crises" and "Moonlight Shadow", and gets also Telegatto (an Italian show award). Then the band performs "Moonlight Shadow" and Maggie Reilly receives a bunch of flowers. Rare!

07.12.1985 OLD GREY WHISTLE TEST - 5/2 : Interview with Mike in his video-studio explaining how he's making the "Pictures In The Dark" videoclip.

02.1986 THE VOLCANO CONCERT - 4/1 : Small interview with Mike and live performance of wonderful extended acoustic version of "Moonlight Shadow" at the Royal Albert Hall in London, with Maggie Reilly and Simon Phillips on tambourine, for the Nevado Del Ruiz Disaster Appeal Fund.

1986 SATURDAY MORNING: The Making of "SHINE" - 8/2 : Mike in his video-studio explaining and showing how the video-equipment works and how he can produce animations.

1987 GOLDENE EUROPA - 11/1 : Mike performing an excerpt from "The Wind Chimes" then "Islands" (with Bonnie Tyler) and "The Time Has Come" (with Anita). After that Mike gets also an award.

15.07.1988 SHOWFENSTER - 10/2 : Sabine Sauer visits Mike and Anita at their new home in the Denham area. One of their children has just been born; plus scenes in their garden and some moments in Mike's studio.

1989 LA LUNA - 12/2 : Performing "Blue Night" with Maggie Reilly and "Innocent" with Anita in this show, plus small interview.

1992 TUBULAR BELLS II (Unplugged demos) 31/1: Rare promo video, showing Mike alone in his studio playing various pieces and instruments, excerpts from TBII in early phase of composing and playing, partly very different to the final version on the album later, then Tom Newman painting the Manor studio and some minutes Anne Nightingale interviewing Mike as she wanted to write a book, a biography about Mike but this book has never been realized or published by Anne later.

1992 The Making of TUBULAR BELLS II - 48/1: This is an extraordinary private video maked by Tom Newman in Mike's home few weeks before prémiere in Edinburgh during the dress rehearsal of Tubular Bells II live performance. Very rare!!!

04.09.1992 The Live Performance At EDINBURGH CASTLE - 65/1: I have this official video as promo edition in papersleeve, the video itself is not different the official one, but it's often that promo-videos are not made on this cheap, lousy video cassettes, so you can expect a better quality.

1992 TG2 - 1/1 : Italian television news announcing "The Return of Mike Oldfield" on stage, with live outtakes from Edinburgh première of "Tubular Bells II".

27.09.1992 MODENA (Italy - Open Air) - 4/1 : Mike and band performing "Sentinel" (single version) during the "Pavarotti & Friends" charity gala, with brief T.B. animation during song. At a certain point, the on-stage cameraman stumbles. making Mike smile!!!

10.1992 MOST WANTED MTV - 25/1 : With Ray Cokes. Integrated is a Tubular Bells II special, including an interview with Mike. "Sentinel" videoclip and, as the upshot, "Taurus III" played togheter with Ray Cokes (he only plays a D chord).

09/17/22.11.1992 AUSTRALIAN TV (3x) - 20/1 : Live "Steve Vizard Show" and "Today Show". Alone, with his guitar, Mike is interviewed and then plays some unplugged bars from "Tubular Bells" and "Tubular Bells II" (funky style "Sentinel"), plus an unknown "Adlib Blues" (only available on "Swallowed Up By A Big Fat Snake" bootleg). Then a special on MTV Australia with interview and "Sentinel" clip.

17.02.1993 TENERIFE - 10/2 : "Sentinel" and "Tattoo" performed on a huge stage with dozens of parading bagpipers during the Carnival of Tenerife.

06.06.1993 FAITH & MUSIC - 25/1 : Mike in his studio talking about his early childhood, his family troubles, friends, feelings, music; then a small unplugged section from "Tubular Bells" pt.2 on acoustic guitar. Live outtakes from Edinburgh 1992, plus "Sentinel" and "The Bell" clips.

30.10.1998 LATER with JOOLS HOLLAND - 68/1: BBC two, featuring Mike Oldfield and other artists/group (Afghan Whings, Natalie Merchant and others) in this show. At the beginning they all play a short piece which could be something by Mike, then the groups are playing one after the other, Mike with his group plays "Serpent Dream" (with a bit extended flamenco intro), then Mike is interviewed by Jools Holland including a short video when Mike was playing in the Kevin Ayers group about 1972. At the end of the show follows "Far Above The Clouds" live version.

22.11.1998 GOLDENE EUROPA (Saarbrucken, Saarlandhalle) - 5/1: Germany ARD, transmitted on december 1998, Mike appearences in that show, getting a award, the Goldene Europa for this "Lifetime Award International" work by the Saarlandische Runkfunk broadcast, playing "Man in the Rain" playback.
